Carry-On Necessities

Carry-On Necessities

Hi Y’all!! ♥

Who’s as ready for spring break as I am?! Not only has this spring semester seemed like a lifetime, but I’ve had Katy Perry’s “California Girls” stuck in my head because I’m spring breaking in…. Los Angeles! I am so so giddy because I am meeting up with my best friend Macy and we have a ton of stuff planned! I’ve been so anxious to get there that I started packing almost a week and a half before I even leave… anyone else do the same?! I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share what I bring along on the plane with me when I travel.

Whether you leave on a 6 am flight, or have a 5 hour layover, it is so important that you have all of the essentials in your carry-on bag with you because you never know when you might need them.  Depending on where I am going to, I will either carry a fun tote or a backpack. For my upcoming LA trip, I plan on carrying a simple, black Marc Jacobs tote so I can continue to use it after the airport, like when I go out on the town and when I visit the beach. I like to try to keep my bag light so I don’t get tired carrying what sometimes feels like a sack of potatoes  through the airport. *I used to be guilty for trying to pack my entire room in my carry-on. Definitely thought I would somehow finish 3 books on a 2 hour plane ride….lol* Thank goodness I’ve finally realized what’s most important to have with me to hold me over until I am reunited with my suitcase!

Here’s a look at my essentials that I just can’t travel without:

  • Phone
  • Laptop
  • Earphones
  • Book
  • Wallet
  • Passport
  • Snacks
  • Gum
  • Cosmetic Bag
    • Mascara + Powder + Rosewater Spray + Lip Vaseline
  • Sunnies
  • Travel Pillow

Most of the items in my bag are no-brainers when it comes to traveling, such as a wallet, phone, and passport. The gum always helps my ears from popping and I have to carry a few extra snacks with me so the person beside me doesn’t hear my stomach growling halfway through the flight. Sure, the peanuts and pretzels given out are nice, but you can’t tell me those hold you over?! I’ll use my earphones to listen to music while I read a book, do something on my laptop, or take a little cat nap with the travel pillow. (If you don’t have a travel pillow, you’re missing out) Lastly, I like to keep a cosmetics bag with some makeup in it in to freshen up after I get off the airplane because we all know a small freshen up doesn’t hurt!

Now that you know what I travel with, let me know what you travel with so I can possibly add to my bag of goodies! Thanks so much for reading this post and don’t forget to let me know what you think! Stay tuned for fun SB photos and posts to come!

XO, Abigail
